Angelica Panganiban is a Filipino-American model, host of a TV show and comedian. Panganiban is often referred to as the "new Queen of Drama" by many media outlets. She is also recognized as being an one of Philippines best-known and versatile actors. Being the youngest contestant in show history, she came in second. Angelica Hale, then 4 years old, fell very sick in 2012 due to an infection caused by strep bacteria. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston, where she was treated for her life-saving condition with ECMO-based life support. The patient was suffering from numerous organ problems, including failure of her kidneys. Hemodialysis and later peritoneal dialysis became her new normal. For the eighteen days she spent in medical center, her world changed completely. After nearly a year and half of dialysis Angelica was ready to undergo the most significant operation in her life: a kidney transplant. The kidney that would be donated to her came from none other than her mom. In September 2013, Angelica and her mom underwent an operation to transplant their kidneys in two renowned hospitals just across the street from each other-Emory University Hospital and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston. Angelica Hale's dream to be the world's most famous person has never wavered.
